Description

A day to celebrate what the Moor than meets the eye scheme has done in its first year looking in particular at the Parishscapes projects which are helping local communities explore their heritage.

9.30am-1.00pm: Parishscapes and community heritage projects

We will be looking at examples from parish projects which are already underway and how Parishscapes fits in with the wider scheme. There will also be guest speaker Dr. David Stone who will talk about the valuable contribution made through community involvement in heritage projects.

This session will suit anyone already involved in a Parishscape project or who wants to know more and might like to set one up. Lunch is included.

Parishscapes is a community heritage project which provides grants of up to £10,000 to the eligible parishes. These are Ashburton, Bickington, Bovey Tracey, Buckland-in-the-moor, Chagford, Dartmoor Forest, Gidleigh, Ilsington, Lustleigh, Manaton, Moretonhampstead, North Bovey, Throwleigh, Widecombe-in-the-moor. 1.00pm-3.00pm: Celebrating our progress so far

The afternoon session is open to everyone to drop in throughout the afternoon. There will be information and updates from all the projects being undertaken as part of the scheme and a chance to discuss what has happened, find out how you can get involved and discover how the scheme is helping to conserve Dartmoor. This is an opportunity for everyone to come along and have your say. We will also be running an informal workshop throughout the afternoon so you can discuss how you think the scheme is working and what could be done better.

There is no need to book for this session
