Event Name Archaeological test-pit training event
Start Date 18th Jul 2017 10:00 am
End Date 19th Jul 2017 4:00 pm
Duration 1 day and 6 hours
Description At North Hall Manor Site, Widecombe

Archaeological test-pits are used as a method of evaluation, a glimpse of what might lie beneath the ground. Test-pits can reveal pottery and other small finds and this information can inform archaeologists about the develop of settlement across an area, inferred population, building materials and trade.

During this two-day long training event you will be able to work alongside professional archaeologists and learn how to undertake an archaeological test-pit excavation, finds processing skills as well as pottery and finds identification.  This training event will be another opportunity to shed more light on the site of North Hall Manor following previous successful excavations.

This is a Moor than meets the eye training event.  Places are bookable in advance so please reserve yours as soon as possible.  For more information, please contact Emma Stockley  or Andy Bailey info@moorthanmeetstheeye.org

Event in conjunction with North Hall Manor.
